The Anorian Guard is the absolute backbone of the Duchies Defensive and Offensive capabilities and is Commanded by the Master of War. It is responsible for all military missions.
Aswell as the defense of the realm and going to war against would be aggressors the Anorian Guard deals with intelligence gathering and intelligence missions. With eyes and ears everywhere, Scouts ensure they know precisely what is going on and who is or is not a threat. Anybody willing and able can join the Anorian Guard. Benefits include access to the most advanced weapons, armour and training facilities available aswell as payment for completion of Missions.
As soldiers make their way up the ranks it is possible for Soldiers to be spotted and can become a Knight of the Sun taking a command position in the military. The Knights of the Sun are an elite chivalric Order within the Anorian Military and only the best of the best gain the right to join it. The Knights are usually handpicked from the Anorian Guard when a soldier has proven themselves capable and worthy of a Knighthood. So long as they prove their metal and their loyalty to the Duchy/Duke is steadfast, they will quickly join the orders ranks and take their rightful place.
Knights are responsible for some of the more important missions, aswell as personal protection for the Duke should it be required and training and handing out missions to those of lower rank. All Knights gain access to a specially designed set of armour, designed by the Duke himself for such a prestigious group of warriors. Other benefits include payment for services and access to excellent equipment.
Military Missions:
War Tasked with going into full scale battle against foreign armies be that either to defend against invasion or being part of a Kingdom wide taskforce to invade an enemy of the Empire. Would suit: Everybody.
Outposts Tasked with delving into remote distant lands to set up secret hidden outposts, sometimes setting up outposts within caves or ruins that you or scouts/adventurers have recently cleared out. Building traps and defenses against intrusion. Also building watchtowers and other military constructs within the Duchy. Would suit: Adventurers / Builders / Architects / PvE
Uprooting Illegals Tasked with locating, evicting and demolishing illegal squatters and their illegal constructs who are attempting to obtain land through adverse possession and refusing to legally obtain the land like everybody else. Would suit: PvP
Advanced Guards Tasked with protecting the land of Anor and it's people when regular guards require a little extra assitance. Often found patrolling towns and cities during times of increased dangers or being sent to vital key areas of the Duchy to protect resources and help deliver resources and goods from one settlement to another. Would suit: PvP / PvE
Huntsmenn Tasked on occasion to help clear an area of the Duchy where dangerous animals have congregated and become a danger to Anorian citizens. Also can be tasked with clearing out farmlands of pests that threaten crops and the harvest. Would suit: Hunters / Survivalists / Animal Trainers / PvE
Rescue Tasked with searching, locating and rescuing Anorians or anyone else required who are in trouble and in need of help. Be that from being trapped in a dangerous location or them having been kidnapped or attacked by criminal scum. Would suit: PvP / PvE
Sabotage Tasked during times of conflict with infiltrating enemy territory and sabotaging key areas of the enemies infrastructure and economy. Would suit: Deviants Skill / PvP
Espionage Tasked with infiltrating other Kingdoms/Duchies using disguise and acquiring detailed information, especially recipes, designs, research and technology and bringing them back for study. Would suit: Deviants Skill / PvP
Assasination Tasked during times of conflict with infiltrating enemy territory and assasinating key political figures and highly important and influential individuals. Would suit: Deviants Skill / PvP
Theft Tasked with breaking into enemy buildings and stealing important items, documents and anything else of worth to the Duchy. Would suit: Deviants Skill / PvP
Dukes Personal Guard Tasked with protecting the Duke at all costs from those who would cause him harm. Would suit: PvP / PvE
Bounty Hunting Tasked with Hunting down criminals that have a bounty on their head. Would suit: PvP / PvE
Elite Scouts Tasked with delving into unknown lands and ancient ruins, clearing these places of dangers, gathering relics and long lost information. Cataloguing and mapping distant territories. Would suit: Adventurers / Bardic Skill / Cartographers / Map makers / PvE
Investigation Tasked with studying a crime scene and speaking to witnesses and attempting to determine who was responsible for the committed crime. Would suit: Investigator / Bardic Skill / PvP / PvE
Clearance Tasked with tracking down and eliminating looters, thieves and raiders. Clearing out caves and bandit camps that arise anywhere within the Duchy. Would suit: PvP / PvE
Courier Tasked with delivering important items or information from one place to another when the route taken could be long and/or dangerous to normal citizens. Would suit: Adventurers / PvE
Settlements That Need Your Help Tasked with aiding settlements within Anor as and when required. Would suit: Anybody Willing
